What is a School Governance Council? The purpose of a School Governance Council (SGC) is to provide parents, school staff, and community members with a leadership role through monitoring and implementation of the strategic plan.What is the commitment? All School Governance Council members serve two-year terms. Time commitment varies from school-to-school but expect 4-5 hours per month which includes meetings, trainings, and school and community events. Candidate Declaration: February 3rd – March 28th Elections will be held from April 16th - 23rd. School Governance Councils are an integral component of Fulton’s Charter System as they oversee charter dollar expenditures and help make decisions that directly impact students, teachers, and our communities. Fulton County Schools (FCS) students once again surpassed both state and national averages on the SAT, marking the eighth consecutive year of this achievement. For the class of 2024, FCS students recorded a mean total score of 1063, outpacing the Georgia average by 33 points and the national average by 68 points.
